Integrity Dental Services Hosts 2021 Healthy Smiles Drive at S.L. Lewis Elementary School to Help Set Students Up for Academic and Dental Success

ATLANTA (Aug. 5, 2021) – According to the Georgia Oral Burden Report, 19 percent of third-graders in Georgia have untreated dental decay. In addition, the prevalence of tooth decay among children in Georgia with low socio-economic status (SES) is 50 percent higher than the prevalence of tooth decay among children in high SES. To combat this, Integrity Dental Services, the Atlanta-based dental laboratory, will be hosting its inaugural back-to-school, 2021 Healthy Smiles Drive, at S.L Lewis Elementary School. The drive, being held Saturday, Aug. 7,  was created to support oral hygiene among minority children and provide school supplies the College Park-area elementary school-aged kids need to succeed in education.

The proportion of non-Hispanic Black and Hispanic high school students who visit an emergency room or urgent care center for oral or dental problems is twice that of non-Hispanic white high school students who visit an ER for the same problems. Through Integrity’s Healthy Smiles Drive, Integrity Dental Services CEO Robert Dinker provides College Park elementary school-aged children and their parents/guardians with the products and educational information needed to support pediatric dental health. To help kick off the 2021-2022 school year, attendees will also receive backpacks filled with school supplies to help support academic success.

“We understand the value of strong oral hygiene in our city’s youth,” said Robert Dinker, CEO, Integrity Dental Services. “This is why we are committed to providing dental support and education during our inaugural pediatric dental hygiene drive. Our goal is to increase awareness of the risk kids face with poor dental hygiene and help instill healthy dental practices now that will turn into habits long term.”

In addition to providing dental hygienic supplies like toothbrushes, floss, and toothpaste donated by JLM Dental Studios, attendees can expect to receive new bookbags filled with school supplies, courtesy of Williams Accounting and Consulting just in time for the new school year. Food and beverages will also be provided courtesy of Zaxby’s. To attend the event, please see the details below:
